Henderson County Tailgate Market hosts info session for vendors, Feb. 28

Press release from Henderson County Tailgate Market:

Here’s your chance to see what it takes to become a vendor at the Henderson County Tailgate Market for the upcoming 40th Anniversary season.

A gathering will be held Thursday, February 28th starting with a potluck dinner at 6pm followed by a 7pm meeting at the North Carolina Cooperative Extension Center, 100 Jackson Park Road.

Interested vendors need to produce/make their products in Henderson County. Rules and regulations will be available and applicants can register. Current vendors, board members and Karen Blaedow, agent of the NC Cooperative Extension will be available for questions and discussion of applicant requirements and market protocols. “We are especially excited as we’ll accept SNAP/EBT and debit/credit cards for the first time since our beginnings,” said Blaedow.

The Henderson County Tailgate Market opened in 1979 featuring fresh county grown produce. It is one of the oldest and successful open air markets in Western North Carolina.

This year the season is open to the public from April 6 through October 26 from 8am to 12noon at 100 North King Street in the parking lot of the county office building. Visit online to download application and rules/regulations at: www.hendersoncountytailgatemarket.com.
