Hendersonville City Council to hold electronic special meeting on May 18

The City Council of the City of Hendersonville will hold the following electronic special meeting:

Date: May 18, 2020

Time: 5:00 p.m.

Location: Operations Centers – Assembly Room
305 Williams St.
Hendersonville NC 28792

Purpose: The purpose of the special meeting is as follows:

-To receive a USDA Letter of Financial Conditions approving the financing for the new Hendersonville Police Department
-To consider the closure of Main Street during certain days and times to support the reopening of downtown businesses
-To consider an ordinance eliminating off-street parking requirements for restaurants for specific period to support their reopening

Because of various emergency orders limiting the number of meeting attendees, the Hendersonville City Council will continue to provide virtual access to regular meetings, second monthly meetings and special meetings. Meetings can be accessed at https://publicinput.com/hvlcitycouncil or by visiting the City’s website at www.hendersonvillenc.gov.

In compliance with the current stay-at-home orders and social distancing guidelines, physical public attendance of the public will not be permitted in the Assembly Room at the Operations Center. Links to provide public comment and watch the City Council meeting are also posted on the City’s website at www.hendersonvillenc.gov.

In an effort to meet all regulations, the City of Hendersonville will provide a listening space for individuals otherwise unable to access the City Council meeting. The first ten individuals to arrive at the City Operations Center at 305 Williams Street on Monday, May 18, 2020 at 4:30 p.m. will be admitted into a separate conference room to listen to the meeting.
