Hendersonville leaders anticipate Open Streets Weekend May 29-31

Press release from Hendersonville Mayor Pro Tem Jerry Smith and Council member Lyndsey Simpson:

We are very excited about the Open Streets Weekend. The streets are closed this weekend so that visitors to Downtown Hendersonville can safely shop and dine while having enough room to be socially distant. We do not encourage gatherings other than those needed to patronize Main Street and Seventh Avenue businesses. There will be no vendors or special activities.

We thank everyone for following the 3 W’s guidelines given by the CDC, the North Carolina Department of Health & Human Services and our Henderson County Health Department – WEAR a facial covering, WAIT 6 ft. apart while practicing social distancing and WASH your hands as frequently as possible. In the true spirit of #LoveHendo, we thank everyone for respecting one another’s boundaries and personal health choices, even if you disagree. The best way to get through this is together and by supporting one another as much as we can. Please be patient with fellow residents, visitors, business owners and staff as we all try to shop and dine while stopping the spread of COVID -19. We wish everyone a safe and healthy weekend and thank you for continuing to #LoveHendo.
