From the town of Hendersonville:
Pets’ Own Place Dog Park located on 7th Avenue E. was completed in July 2013. Pets’ Own Place is located on the former Terminix Pest Control Property at 1019 7th Avenue E. Due to their facilities being damaged numerous times by flood waters, Terminix donated the property to the City of Hendersonville for use as a public recreational space.
The Hendersonville Public Works Department has worked over the last twelve months to convert the site into Hendersonville’s first official dog park. Pets’ Own Place consists of approximately half an acre of fenced in area with bench seating, public water access and designated areas for large and small dogs.
Prior to the August City Council meeting, the City sponsored a naming contest for the park and received several great suggestions. Leah Ryel’s suggestion of Pets’ Own Place was selected by the City Council at their August City Council meeting.
The City of Hendersonville will be hosting a ribbon cutting to celebrate the completion of Pets’ Own Place on October 11th at 3:30 pm. We cordially invite you to join us to celebrate the opening of Hendersonville’s newest park.
Congrats on getting a dog park hendersonville. Too bad no one cleans it up, emptys the trash or makes and effort go put grass there. For a town run by rich old white republicans you think they would have the funds to do so
