Hendersonville ‘Rally for Education’ today

From press release

Dancewater Blog

A “Rally for Education” will be held at 4:00 PM, Monday, November 4. Having been denied the right of peaceful assembly in front of the Historic Court House, the rally will be held on the two sides of the 1500 block of Fifth Ave. West in Hendersonville. This is a follow-up to the August 24th Rally for Education held at the same location. The Rally is in support of teachers (see the Times-News October 22nd article, “Teachers, administrators will fight new state rules on pay raises, tenure”) and other aspects of grades pre-K through 12 Public School rules changes and budget. The budget has a negative impact on our teachers, administrators and support staff as well as, most importantly, the estimated 13,575 public school students in Henderson County. Speakers will address the impact of new state rules and the 2013-2014 budget on pre-K through 12 in our Public Schools both locally and statewide.
