From the city’s press release:
This year the City has issued an unusually high number of warnings for high grass and weeds. Since March, over 150 warning letters have been sent. One cause of the
increase in problems is the large number of foreclosures that have occurred around the city in the last two years. The City has trouble reaching the responsible party at banks
or other owners of foreclosed properties in an effort to get them to take responsibility for the properties in their care.
