The Tuesday evening Hoop Jam, presented by Mission Health with Asheville Hoops, returns to Pritchard Park on May 28 from 5:30-7:30pm. Hoop Jam continues every Tuesday until August 27. Instruction is provided by Melanie MacNeil, widely recognized as one of Asheville’s and the Southeast’s finest fire and hoop performers, with music by George Pond of Snake Oil Medicine Show.
“As a part of Asheville’s hooping community, Hoop Jam brings expert hoopers and newcomers alike to Pritchard Park on Tuesday evenings for a healthy activity,” said Chris Bubenik, events committee chair for the Asheville Downtown Association, “This, paired with our unique culture, has led our city to receive a ‘Hoopie’ Award, honoring Asheville as Hooping Community of the Year for 2013.”
