HT-N: Schencks win Lela McBride award for conservation work

Sandy and Missy Schenck, co-owners of the Green River Preserve summer camp in Cedar Mountain, have been named  winners of the 2014 Lela McBride Award  by Carolina Mountain Land Conservancy.

The Hendersonville Times-News reported that the  award was presented at CMLC’s annual meeting at Camp Tekoa. The recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to land conservation and stewardship in the region. Previous winners have included N.C. Rep. Chuck McGrady, Agriculture Secretary Steve Troxler and Congressman Charles Taylor.
