The following candidates have accepted their invitations from Indivisible Asheville/WNC to participate in a town hall meeting for local government seats at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Tuesday, Sept. 4 at the Lord Auditorium in Pack Library at 67 Haywood St. in downtown Asheville:
District Attorney: Todd Williams
Sheriff: Quentin Miller and Tracey Debuhl
County Commissioner: Amanda Edwards and Donna Ensley
Incumbents Al Whitesides and Robert Pressley have a County Commissioners meeting that conflicts with the town hall; they have been invited to submit their positions on issues to be read at the event.
“This is a great opportunity for folks in Asheville and Buncombe County to get to know the candidates for these crucial local elections,” said Carolyn Anderson of Indivisible Asheville/WNC. “We’ll be asking them questions that directly affect people in our area, so we can all make informed decisions in November when we head to the polls.”
