Tuesday night, Jonathan Wainscott was arrested by the Asheville Police Department at his home on Reynolds Road. He has been charged with violating his pre-trial release, according to an Asheville Police Department report. Wainscott was arrested earlier this year for violating a restraining order taken out against him by his estranged wife. Wainscott has a June 10 court appearance set in Wake County.
Raleigh Police Department issued the warrant for Wainscott after he allegedly violated a protective order that was issued March 2.
Wainscott was held in Buncombe County Detention Facility today and is being transported by Wake county officials to Wake county where he will await trial.
The new charges of cyberstalking add to charges of violating the protective order already filed in early May.
