Join AmeriCorps Project Conserve for National Volunteer Week

Holmes Education State Forest Workday: Join AmeriCorps Project Conserve Friday, April 15th:10AM-2:30PM to improve and repair the educational helicopter display, updating and improving the public ground area, removing invasive species and restoring the Holmes pollinator garden. Rutherford Outdoor Coalition (ROC) trail cleanup:  Join ROC in cleaning the entire 8 miles of the Rail Trail on Saturday, April 16th: starting at 11AM. The trail runs from Spindale to Gilkey. We will all meet at the McDonald’s in Spindale at 11 am and divide up into groups from there with each group covering about a mile of trail. ROC will supply trash bags and a few pair of grabbers. Volunteers will leave their trash bags at designated locations along the trail and I will round them up and take them off after the clean-up is over. If interested contact dmbradl@g.clemson.edu

Non-native Invasive Species Removal and Pollinator Patch Upkeep at DeerLake Community in Brevard: Saturday, April 16th: 11AM-3PM. Join CMLC and BCServes (a service based club from Brevard College) in removing non-native invasive species on a CMLC easement and doing some gardening on the pollinator waystation at DeerLake Community in Brevard. Email volunteer@carolinamountain.org with questions or to RSVP.

AmeriCorps Project Conserve is a National Service program in which members come from across the nation to dedicate themselves to serving western North Carolina for an 11 month service term. The program focuses on collaboration with nonprofit organizations, community groups and local governments to provide service throughout the region.
