Libertarian US Senate Candidates forum at UNC Asheville

Here’s the press release from the Young Americans for Liberty chapter at the University of North Carolina:

RALEIGH (April 23) – The Young Americans for Liberty chapter at the University of North Carolina – Asheville is sponsoring a US. Senate candidate debate Sunday, April 27 at 2 p.m. at the campus.

They have invited all 13 candidates who will compete in May 6 primaries. Peter Kaliner of WWNC radio will moderate the forum.

To date, Libertarians Tim D’Annunzio and Sean Haugh have accepted the invitation.

The 90-minute forum will be held in Mountain View Room 417 in the Sherill Center. Organizers plan to live stream the event on Google Hangouts, using the Libertarian Party of North Carolina’s YouTube channel.

The Libertarian Party of Buncombe County is helping the YAL with forum arrangements. “We’re very grateful to the YAL for organizing this forum, and especially arranging for such a wonderful venue on the UNC Asheville campus,” said Holley Shumate, county co-chair.

YAL is the largest, most active, and fastest-growing pro-liberty organization on America’s college campuses. “Our mission to promote the principles of economic freedom and individual natural rights by strict adherence to the Constitution,” said Robert Roland, YAL chapter president.

“As a coalition of students across America, we stand for strongly limiting government intervention in social and economic spheres, so that individuals are free to pursue prosperity and happiness however they best see fit.”
