McHenry: I support conservative budget plan

Here’s the message from Rep. Patrick McHenry via his email newsletter. The Republican congressman represents North Carolina’s 10th District, which includes most of Asheville.

Dear Friends,

This past week, conservatives in Congress once again introduced a responsible budget plan to put our nation on a path to fiscal solvency. We’ve got to end the days of governing from crisis to crisis. Our plan, The Path to Prosperity balances the federal budget in 10 years by ensuring that taxes paid by American families and small businesses are spent in an accountable and effective way.

Unfortunately, Senate Democrats have a different idea. They forced through passage of a traditional tax-and-spend liberal budget, but at least they passed something after four years of inaction. Meanwhile, the President has failed to provide his budget as required by law for the fourth time in five years.

The continued obstruction by President Obama and Senate Democrats is a big disappointment at a time when economists have said that our budget will foster a healthier economy that helps create jobs.

I’ll continue to stand up and fight for the responsible, balanced budget that taxpayers deserve.

Feel free to contact me directly if I can ever be of assistance.

Regards,

Patrick McHenry
Member of Congress
