Mellow Mushroom releases 2015 collectible calendar

PRESS RELEASE from Mellow Mushroom Pizza Bakers

Atlanta, Ga.—Dec. 10, 2014— Mellow Mushroom’s 2015 Calendar has arrived at participating stores at last. The annual calendar is a free gift to guests, available while supplies last at participating locations. The calendar is an artistic extravaganza guests can enjoy all year. Featuring a creative narrative and beautiful illustration, it has become quite a collectible item.

Mellow Mushroom’s mission is to provide delicious food in a fun and creative environment, but it’s much more than that. Mellow is a state of mind, a culture, a way of being. To this effort, Mellow has produced annual custom calendars since 1988. The 2015 calendar is sure to be the best one yet.

While other restaurant calendars are expensive and focus on coupons, Mellow offers the calendar free as a token of appreciation for many years of loyalty. In addition, the calendar is chock full of zany and amusing fun facts.

This year Mellow has gone all out to create an interactive, narrative calendar, featuring many fantastic artists, including Atlanta artists Buddy Finethy, Dusty Griffin, Ben Boling, Aurora Yarberry and Nick Benson.  The storyline brings the fictitious world of Mellow Island to life, revolving around the Case of the Emerald Mushroom, a fabulous gem that is stolen from the Shroomville Natural History Museum the night before Shroomville’s Founders Day Festival. Each panel features an illustration of a character alibi or motive, as the sleuth Dr. Shroomstein tries to solve the case. Read Dr. Shroomstein’s ongoing case blog here: http://emeraldmushroom.tumblr.com to follow along.

Guests can vote for which of Mellow’s lovable characters they think stole the Emerald Mushroom for a chance to win monthly prizes. Here’s how it all works.

The 2015 Mellow Mushroom calendar shows the events of that fateful day in Shroomville. Alibis, clues and red herrings are hidden throughout the calendar. Each month on his blog, Dr. Shroomstein will discuss his analysis of that month’s calendar art and will reveal the innocence of one of the characters, until the last month, when he will reveal the culprit.

Guests can vote once a month on Mellow Mushroom’s Facebook page here: http://mellowmushroom.com/calendar2015contest. Votes must be in by midnight of the 15th of each month. The winner(s) each month will be selected randomly from fans that chose one of the remaining suspects. Prizes will be a surprise. Each month we will offer one or more prizes for the winner(s), until the case is solved.

For example, the first prize available will be a limited edition T-shirt featuring a unique and colorful design of Dr. Shroomstein in his lab.

Pick up a free copy at participating stores while supplies last. A digital version of the 2015 Calendar can be viewed here: http://mellowmushroom.com/calendar2015.
