Mold keeps North Buncombe Elementary from opening on time

At-large, Buncombe County Board of Education: Matt Kern, Donna Pate and Amy Smith Wamsley.

Announcement from Buncombe County Schools:

Although most Buncombe County Schools will open tomorrow for the first day of school for 2015-16, the opening of North Buncombe Elementary School (NBES) is being delayed for two days due to the discovery of a common mold in parts of the school. The first day of school for NBES is now scheduled to be Friday, August 21, which allows for the entire building to be professionally cleaned utilizing established protocols and procedures to ensure a safe environment for all students and staff.
