Press Release
From UNC-TV:
“Most of us take our roads and bridges, airports and railroads for granted. We have no trouble getting from one place to another. This excellent documentary reminds us that this has not always been the case in North Carolina with our treacherous coastlines, shallow rivers, nearly impenetrable mountains, and roads that were more mud and rut than anything else. This “moving” documentary tells the compelling stories of how our state pulled itself out of the mud and into the 21st century.”
– Susan Kluttz, Secretary, NC Department of Cultural Resources
Moving North Carolina is the story of how a state transformed itself from a network of ancient foot trails to a bustling twenty-first century hub of economic activity by revolutionizing its transportation system. With the aid of Tar Heel singer and storyteller extraordinaire Bland Simpson, and with original eclectic music by Jack Herrick of the Red Clay Ramblers, producer Michael Sheehan brings the history of transportation in North Carolina to life. Moving North Carolina airs Thursday, September 25 at 10 p.m. on UNC-TV.

Wow, amazing timing. Pat McCrory comes out with his NCVision25 plan for the next 25 years of transportation funding, and then this. Wait… I wonder who is funding this UNC-TV documentary?

Yep, they’re all highway contractors.
