New exhibit by UNCA art faculty members opens Aug. 23

Eleven UNC Asheville Art Department faculty members will display their work in a wide-ranging exhibition Aug. 23-Oct. 4 at UNC Asheville’s S. Tucker Cooke Gallery. The show kicks off the gallery’s 2013-2014 season. There will be an opening reception from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23, in the gallery.

Participating studio art faculty are Virginia Derryberry, Robert Dunning, Robert Tynes, Megan Wolfe, Tamie Beldue, Jackson Martin, Brent Skidmore, Eric Tomberlin, Matt West, Scott Lowrey and Carrie Tomberlin. The exhibit features work in drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, printmaking and ceramics.

The reception and exhibition are free and open to the public. Located on the first floor of Owen Hall, the S. Tucker Cooke Gallery is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays. For more information, visit UNC Asheville’s Department of Art website at art.unca.edu or call 828.251.6559.
