OFF THE MAP artist discussion, March 10

The Media Arts Project (MAP) presents an OFF THE MAP artist discussion with MAP community art grant recipients, Severn Eaton, Michael Luchtan & Kehren Barbour.

The recipients of The Media Arts Project’s Community Art Grant will present visuals of their work and talk about the progression of their funded projects which will premiere at the multi-media interdisciplinary event, {Re}HAPPENING, on April 5th.

Severn Eaton discusses his “Cooperative Instrument;” costuming created with electrical pickups and strings for players to interact and manipulate each other as instruments in an embrace.

Michael Luchtan & Kehren Barbour discuss “Post Piano Project;” a visually dynamic laboratory in sound that allows for group interaction.

Sara Baird, coordinator of The MAP’s Community Art Grant, will be on hand to give details about the upcoming MAP grant cycle. A special screening of a short documentary about {Re}HAPPENING, created by Link’d Video will kick off the night.
