Pardee UNC Health Care to Host Weight Loss Surgery Information Sessions on January 9 and 23

Hendersonville, N.C. – Pardee UNC Health Care will host free weight loss surgery information sessions on Tuesday, Jan. 9 and Tuesday, Jan. 23 from 6-7 p.m. on the second floor of the Mission Pardee Health Campus, located at 2775 Hendersonville Road in Arden. Chris Edwards, M.D., FACS, a board-certified general and bariatric surgeon, will host both sessions. He will discuss how obesity affects a person psychologically and physically, and obesity treatment options. Attendees considering weight loss surgery will have an opportunity to ask Dr. Edwards questions about the program and make an appointment to discuss next steps. Visit www.pardeehospital.org/bariatrics to register. Attendees are welcome to bring friends or family members for support.

Our goal at Pardee Bariatrics and Weight Loss is to make sure our patients are educated and prepared for one of the biggest, but most healthy, decisions of their life,” said Dr. Edwards. “Our caring team is always available to answer questions, but success truly depends on a patient’s understanding of the road ahead of them. For this reason, we highly encourage that a prospective patient brings a support person with them who can help them throughout their weight loss journey.”

Dr. Edwards specializes in minimally invasive surgery, including single-site bariatric, reflux and hernia surgery. He has served as the medical director for dozens of surgeon training courses nationwide and his work has been published in many peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Edwards has practiced in Western North Carolina for more than 10 years.
