The area they are thinking of putting this is probably the most compromised, unfriendly, and dangerous corner of Asheville. This is a complete waste of grant money. This facility will be torn apart in two weeks, and then what? More money thrown at it. COA closed the Haywood Street one as it was torn apart right after renovations. The carrier park one was torn apart, the Pack Square ones were vandalized, but we still feel guilty enough to the 6 people that run around Asheville causing mahem, to give them a place to shoot up. I feel bad for the City staff who will be tasked with keeping this clean.
