Come celebrate the end of pool season at Asheville Parks & Recreation’s third annual Doggie Dip September 10 at Recreation Park Pool, 65 Gashes Creek Road. The dip is from noon until 5 p.m. and cost is only $5 per pooch and handler in advance or $10 the day of the event. Additional spectators pay only $1.
Dogs 35 pounds and under swim from noon until 2 p.m. Dogs 36 pounds and up take to the water from 2:30 to 5 p.m. All dogs must have proof of current vaccinations, be spayed or neutered, and on non-retractable leashes. The Asheville Humane Society will be on site to add to the fun and provide information about its programs.
To register in advance, find the form at ashevillenc.gov/ParksRecreation/Events or email Candy Hensley Shaw at chensleyshaw@ashevillenc.gov. People can also register in advance in person at the Recreation Office, 72 Gashes Creek Road.
