Renovated Buncombe County Special Collections opens June 15

Press release from Buncombe County Special Collections:

For the past year, Buncombe County Special Collections (formerly the NC Room) has undergone a series of changes– from new color on the walls to rearranging books. If you haven’t been in our space in a while, you’re sure to notice the differences! These changes are not only to our physical space, but also to many of our systems and practices. These transformations had one goal in mind: ensure that the Special Collections was comfortable and accessible for everyone in our community.

To learn more about the changes we’ve made and why, check out this article from the most recent Appalachian Curator.

After months of work, we’re proud to say the project is nearly complete. Next week, on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, we have a series of events planned to celebrate our new space, as well as the Juneteenth holiday.

To learn more about the events planned for next week, visit our events page.  Please feel free to share this email or any of the calendar invites on the website or social media with friends and family.

Note: the lunch and learn event on Wednesday is limited to the first 20 registrants.
