Press release from MountainTrue and the French Broad Riverkeeper:
Asheville, N.C. — The French Broad Riverkeeper’s summer events and paddles just got a lot cooler with the Riverkeeper Beer Series: five unique local beers brewed to support the work of MountainTrue and the French Broad Riverkeeper – the primary protector and defender of the French Broad River watershed. Each month will also be co-sponsored by a local outdoor gear manufacturer who will donate prizes, apparel and gear.
First up for May is Oskar Blues and ENO who are proud to sponsor a month’s worth of French Broad Riverkeeper paddles and river cleanups. Oskar Blues Brewery will release a special beer brewed with River Bend Malts and water from the French Broad River watershed on May 14 at a beer release party at their Brevard brewery. ENO (Eagles Nest Outfitters) will donate hammocks and other prizes for the May 14 event.
May Riverkeeper Beer Series Events Sponsored by Oskar Blues and ENO:
May 7 – River Cleanup near Oskar Blues Brewery (exact location TBD).
May 14 – Section Paddle from the Pisgah Access to Pleasant Grove Road followed by a Beer Release Party at Oskar Blues Brevard with ENO prizes.
May 28 – Section Paddle from Pleasant Grove Road to Westfeldt.
