RiverLink offers scholarships for rising 6th-8th graders to attend summer camp

Press release

From RiverLink:

RiverLink is offering a scholarship to a rising 6th-8th grade student living in the French Broad to attend our French Broad River Day Camp this year. River Camp is focused on hands on, experiential education.

Thanks to the TD Charitable Foundation, we were able to extend scholarship opportunities to 10 campers in 2012 and 4 in 2013. We have one of the four scholarships left to award to a camper who would participate in the June 24th-28th session.

Recommendations for students who would greatly benefit from a unique, outdoor learning experience like this and may require financial assistance for the cost of attendance are being accepted until June 9th. Recommendations will be reviewed by a committee who will chose the selected candidate.

The week is full of environmental education and river recreation focused around the French Broad. For more information about River Camp or to submit a recommendation, please visit http://www.riverlink.org/camps.asp or call Nikki Bauman at 828-252-8474 x18.

Located in Asheville’s River Arts District, RiverLink is a regional organization spearheading the economic and environmental revitalization of the French Broad River watershed as a destination where everyone can work, live and play.

For more information about how you can get involved, see our Web site: www.riverlink.org, or contact us at information@riverlink.org or by phone at 252-8474.
