Sixth annual ArtSpace Cabaret on March 20

ArtSpace Charter School announced the lineup for its 6th Annual ArtSpace Cabaret. The event will take place at Isis Restaurant and Music Hall on March 20th, from 6–9:30 p.m. and will feature a variety of local, regional and national performing acts.

The 6th rendition of the annual event will have a musical focus, and has attracted some of the area’s most unique talent. The lineup features NPR theme composer BJ Leiderman, post-rock avant-garde electric duo the Ahleuchatistas, high energy bluegrass from Buncombe Turnpike, Americana singer-songwriter Dave Desmelik, classic cabaret from Vendetta Crème, walking jukebox Scott Raines, and local Appalachian folk artists Mountain Friends. This eclectic gathering of musicians promises to have a little something for all musical palates.

While the focus is on the music, the Cabaret will also have comedy. Emceeing this year’s event will be Asheville improv comedy troupe the Reasonably Priced Babies. Adding more variety to the Cabaret, local all-female sketch comedy troupe LYLAS will be bringing an original musical sketch.

A Silent Auction rounds out the evening with thousands of dollars worth of prizes set to go to the highest bidders. All proceeds from the Silent Auction benefit ArtSpace Charter School and its vision of being “a national benchmark in educational excellence through integration of the arts.”
