Taekwon-Do international championship tournament  in Asheville this Weekend

ASHEVILLE, NC, June 6, 2014: Asheville Sun Soo Tae Kwon Do is honored to host the 2014 Taekwon-Do International Invitational Championship Tournament on Saturday June 7th from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm at the DeVries Gym on the Warren Wilson College campus in Asheville, NC.

Special guest instructor is Grandmaster Suk Jun Kim, a 9th degree black belt and President and Founder of Taekwon-Do International. Kim is a direct disciple of the late General Choi Hong Hi, pioneer and innovator in traditional Taekwon-Do. 

In addition to Grandmaster Kim, other instructors will include Grandmaster Myung Soo Son, a 9th degree black belt and President and Founder of the Royal Tae Kwon Do Federation, and Master Tony Morris, 7th degree black belt and President and Founder of the Sun Soo Martial Arts Association and Founder of Asheville Sun Soo Tae Kwon Do, as well as other master instructors of Taekwon-Do International member schools.

Competitors will be of all ages, from 3 years old to 72 years old, men, women and families representing many belt levels. The event will also include national and international black belt demonstrations throughout the day.

“We are so honored and excited to be hosting the 2014 Taekwon-Do International Invitational Championship Tournament here in Asheville. To have some of the true Grandmasters of Taekwon-do from around the world in Asheville deserves wide recognition in our community,” said Master Tony Morris.

Grandmaster Suk Jun Kim will also conduct a National Black Belt seminar on Friday, June 6 at Asheville Sun Soo Tae Kwon Do in West Asheville from 5:00 pm until 10:00 pm. Approximately 60 participants from around the nation will be in attendance.
