This month I get to share the stage with none other than local celebrity Jonathan Scales—whose recent release with his Jonathan Scales Fourchestra recently climbed up to #6 on iTunes’s jazz charts! There are at least two dozen reasons why I love playing with this guy, so I’ll limit myself here and just say that I thoroughly enjoy his springy sense of time, incredibly challenging and interesting original compositions, enviable work ethic, and impeccable sense of style. As I’ve discovered this month, he’s a fantastic collaborator, wonderful improviser and an all-around good guy.  We’ll be dialing up a number of Scales favorites from all of his previous albums, along with a few standards, a tune I composed for him, and J.S. Bach for good measure. Piano and pans sound great together, don’t miss this one.
