Venue: Odditorium   1045 Haywood Rd., Asheville, NC

Tanya Solomon, one of stage magic’s few female professionals, is making Asheville one of the stops on the first national tour of her solo show “Tanya Solomon:  Truth Assassin”.

The show, which premiered at New York ‘s Voorhees Theater in 2016, is a one-woman show emphasizing magic as entertainment for intelligent adults. This hour of startling effects includes baffling sleight-of-hand, costumes changed in a flash, blindfold targeting with a knife, and live fish appearing from nowhere. Solomon creates comedy out of the interaction between the magician as self-proclaimed liar and the rational expectations of the audience. Logic and laws of nature guaranteed violated!

Tanya Solomon, who lives in Brooklyn, is a magician who is a regular presence in New York City’s variety and burlesque scene, and produces the monthly Brooklyn revue “Force Majeure Vaudeville”. She has been a cast member of the Coney Island Circus Sideshow and the Bindlestiff Family Cirkus. www.tanyasolomon.net

The show is directed by Corn Mo, a musician and variety artist who has toured with Nick Offerman, They Might Be Giants, his own bands .357 Lover and Tragedy, and many others.
