The DuPont Forest Festival, Sept. 28

Press release from Friends of DuPont Forest:

Join us in DuPont Forest to celebrate National Public Lands Day! The Festival will kick off at 10am  at the Guion Farm Access Area where most of the 30+ activities and events will be held (please see the full schedule below).

What to bring?
The Forest Festival is a great way to spend the day in the woods. Here is what you should bring to be prepared.

  • Water
  • Sunblock
  • Sturdy shoes (don’t wear flip flops)
  • Snacks – Olive Food Truck will be on site until 2pm
  • Vehicles are not allowed in the Forest, so to access the stand up paddle board and kayak tours on Lake Julia you’ll need to hike, bike or ride a horse in.
  • Extra bag to pack out your trash. One of the best ways you can show your love for the Forest is to practice the “pack it in, pack it out” philosophy.
  • Desire to learn about DuPont and willingness to fall in love with the Forest.

Parking
The NC Forest Service is opening the fields at Guion Farm Access Area for extra parking during the Festival. Parking is first come, first serve. Please follow the signs to find the overflow parking area.
