Thomas Wolfe 8K gets new course

The 36th Annual Thomas Wolfe 8K ,presented by Mission Health runs through Historic Riverside Cemetery, the beautiful Montford Neighborhood, and vibrant downtown Asheville on Saturday, October 20th at 10am (note new time). The start is at 77 Central Avenue (Banker’s Insurance).

This year’s course not only includes a loop past Thomas Wolfe’s grave in Riverside Cemetery, but also a jaunt along the scenic Reed Creek Greenway developed by RiverLink!

This year’s race includes cemetery surprises, live music by the Glampas, free beer by French Broad Brewing, long-sleeve cotton t-shirt, cash awards for fastest 1 mile and 3 mile splits, special awards from Biltmore Estate among others.

Local charities benefiting from the race are: Thomas Wolfe House, Buncombe County Greenway Development, Augustine Literacy Program for Children; Literacy Council of Buncombe, Connect Buncombe, RiverLink.

The $30 registration includes a cotton long-sleeve shirt, French Broad River Beer, pizza, music by The Glampas, and a sundry of fabulous awards/raffle items! All military personnel, all county and city workers, including but not limited to K12 teachers, police and fire officials receive $10 discounts. Groups of 10 or more register for $15/person.
