TRANZMISSION fundraiser will be held March 18

PRESS RELEASE:

A fundraising event will be held at O. Henry’s Underground, starting at 8:00 pm on Friday, March 18th. Coinciding with the first day of the LGBT in the South Conference, this event will feature a concert by local LGBT musicians Royal Skyyy, AJ What?, Brynn Estelle and her Band, and Pretty Pretty. Music will be followed by a drag and performance art showcase starting at midnight, featuring Dirty Grits, Princess Perfect, Tomorrow Mayhem, and others. Tranzmission has organized this event with support from The Campaign for Southern Equality and Umbrella Tree Records. Admission is available at the door on a $5 – $25 sliding scale, with proceeds to benefit Tranzmission, the Tranzmission Prison Project and the Transformers support group.

For over 15 years, Tranzmission has been dedicated to making the lives of transgender, gender variant, non-binary and genderqueer individuals healthier, happier and safer through education, advocacy and support. Our projects include the Transformers support group and the Trazmission Prison Project, which seeks to get books in the hands of incarcerated members of the trans and gender nonconforming community. Tranzmission also organizes our community’s observances of Stonewall Commemoration Day and The Transgender Day of Remembrance.
