Truth & Salvage Co. presells sophomore album to fund move to Nashville

L.A. based California-country rockers Truth & Salvage Co. got their start in Asheville a decade or so ago as Scrappy Hamilton. In recent years they’ve attracted the attention of The Black Crowes’ Chris Robinson, recorded their debut, toured with Crowes, made a video for Gap, appeared on Jimmy Kimmel and more. But you can read about all of that here: http://www.mountainx.com/article/28959/Truth-Salvage-Co.-QA

The next adventure for the band is two fold: Release a second album and move band east. Not all the way east, mind you, but most of the way: Nashville is the destination. In hopes of combining those two goals, T&S Co. is pre-selling its just-finished record. Funds from pre-sales go toward relocation. Here’s how it works, according to an email from the band:

“First of all, we want to give all of you guys and gals some free music from our last visit to Daytrotter. Our impromptu recording session that day in Rock Island, IL turned up some great versions of Middle Island Creek, Envy, Summertime, and featured our friend Lissie on lead vocals for our rendition of Neil Young’s ‘Sugar Mountain.’ Here’s the link: http://www.daytrotter.com

“We want to offer a few special packages that will excite many of you guys. Remember, if you guys purchase any of these packages, every dollar will go to keeping us on the road these coming months. Here’s what we have:

“(Package #1) We would like to offer a limited run of 500 pre-sales of our upcoming CD. Each CD will be signed by the band. As a thank you, you will also get a download of our live/studio song, ‘Giant’ which is unavailable anywhere else. If you were planning on buying our CD when it is released this summer, go ahead and get it now before it is even available in stores. The price is $19 plus s&h. http://www.truthandsalvageco.com/2012/03/20/limited-pre-order-the-new-album/

“(Package #2) Get a print of our limited ‘Until We Meet Again’ poster. We only have 200 available and each one is numbered and signed by the band. This poster memorializes our last west coast show before we make the big move to Nashville. You will also receive a download of ‘Giant.’ The price is $25 plus s&h.

“(Package #3) Get both the poster and the new CD, both autographed for $39. You will also get the download the song ‘Giant.’

“(Package #4) For those about to rock, we will salute you by putting your name in our special thanks on our new album. You will forever be memorialized as part of this new album. We will also send you the autographed upcoming CD, the signed poster, and the download of ‘Giant.’ The price is $99 with all shipping included.

“(Package #5) For the truly brave…let’s throw a Backyard Hootenanny! We’ll show up at your house for a private acoustic show for you and your lady, your family, your friends, your drunk relatives…whoever you want. Invite as many people as you can squeeze in and let’s rock! Many people have asked about this and we are offering this for a limited time this summer and fall. Email us at band@truthandsalvageco.com for special price and more information.

And for those of you that just aren’t in a position to get involved in any of the above at this time, we understand and appreciate your continued support. ”

Great article! These guys always had a southern sound so they should fit in great in Nashville.
