UNCA’s music department announces season of student performances

From the press release:

UNC Asheville’s Music Department has a busy season of student performances planned on campus this spring. Upcoming are two performances scheduled in February, three in March, and three in April. Admission is $5 at the door for each performance, with students and children free.

February 19 – Jazz Band & Studio 18 Vocal Jazz Ensemble Concert – Jazz Big Band and jazz vocal selections presented by students under the direction of William Bares and Melodie Galloway. 4 p.m., Lipinsky auditorium.

February 26 – Wind Ensemble & Symphony Concert – Students perform under the direction of Milton Crotts. 4 p.m., Lipinsky Auditorium.

March 15 – Jazz Combos Concert – Jazz selections presented by various student combos under the direction of William Bares and Brian Felix. 7:30 p.m., Lipinsky Auditorium.

March 18 – Chamber Music Concert – Student ensemble performances include the String Quartet and Brass Quintet. 4 p.m., Lipinsky Auditorium.

March 25 – University Singers Concert – The University Singers perform under the direction of Melodie Galloway. 4 p.m., Lipinsky Auditorium.

April 15 – Wind Ensemble & Symphony Concert – Students perform under the direction of Milton Crotts. 4 p.m., Lipinsky Auditorium.

April 17 – Contemporary Music Concert – Student performances of 20th and 21st century music as well as their own compositions. 7:30 p.m., Lipinsky Auditorium.

April 22 – Gala Concert – Student ensembles include the Symphony, Studio 18 Vocal Jazz Ensemble, and Jazz Big Band performing under the direction of Melodie Galloway, Milton Crotts, and William Bares. 4 p.m., Lipinsky Auditorium.
