From The Blue Banner:
Asheville Community Theatre’s production of “Chicago” opened with a bang last Friday, literally.
“Chicago” is one of those timeless musicals in the fact that it was, and continues to be, socially relevant. The musical is satirical and hilarious but honestly points out the flaws in the judicial system when pretty women with pouty lips are involved.
ACT’s rendition of this classic is certainly one that should make the Asheville community proud. Jerry Crouch’s brilliant directing, Tina Pisano-Foor’s dazzling choreography and fantastic performances from the likes of Elizabeth Newchurch, Andre Ellerby and Rachelle Roberts have undoubtedly made this a production not to miss.
