VET FEST 2014 benefits veterans services, Nov. 9

From a press release:

Sunday, November 9th, from 2-6pm – Highland Brewing will host VET FEST 2014, a concert celebration honoring two local non-profit organizations serving disabled Veterans in Western North Carolina–Helios Warriors, offering alternative holistic healing therapies, and Heart of Horse Sense, providing equine-assisted therapies. Both organizations offer their services at low to no cost to disabled veterans and their families in Western North Carolina.

Musical guests will include local singer/songwriter Andy Buckner, winner of the 2014 Clear Channel Talent Search, along with Charlotte-based southern rockers, Preacher Stone, whose tune “Not Today” has been featured on the FX hit series, Sons of Anarchy.

In addition to an afternoon of great southern rock, attendees will be able to purchase bowls of chili provided by local restaurants and make bids on silent auction offerings of art, meals, overnight stays, and tickets to local attractions. Also, for every beer sold at the event, Highland Brewing will donate $1 to the effort.

All proceeds will be split between the two local non-profit service organizations–Helios Warriors and Heart of Horse Sense, both offering alternative therapies for disabled veterans and their families in Western North Carolina. Both organizations have been recognized and are promoted through the Charles George VA Medical Center in Asheville.
