Asheville’s Wild Wing Cafe is offering beer drinkers and football fans a new way to show off their brawn and willpower during halftime of Thursday night NFL football games. The sports bar and restaurant has announced it will host the the Sam Adams Stein Hoisting Competition throughout the month of September.
The competition consists of diners holding a full stein of beer straight out from their body for as long as they can. Whichever diner holds his/her stein out the longest wins the competition and will receive gear and apparel as a prize, courtesy of Sam Adams Brewing Company.
Local and regional winners will be announced throughout September, with a grand prize winner crowned on October 1. The grand prize for September is a Sam Adams Kegerator.
No word as of yet on if penalties will be levied against those who drop or spill their beer.
Check out the Sam Adams Stein Hoisting Competition every Thursday at Wild Wing Cafe at 161 Biltmore Ave or Wild Wing Cafe South at 65 Long Shoals Road from now until October.
