Wild Birds Unlimited’s grand opening is Nov. 16

Wild Birds Unlimited Nature Shop holds a grand opening in South Asheville on Saturday, Nov. 16 from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. The new store is located at 10 Crispin Court, Suite D-102, in Gerber Village. The opening event includes family friendly nature talks, prize drawings, refreshments, give-a-ways and product demonstrations. According to a press release, “It will provide support to local nonprofits and rehabilitators doing great work in the areas of wildlife rehabilitation and environmental education like the Western North Carolina Nature Center and The North Carolina Arboretum.”

From a press release:

Join educator Cat Dillard from The North Carolina Arboretum in a hands-on exploration of birds as well as other wildlife of our area. Participants will meet Ribbert the Toad, learn how to match up mammals with their footprints and play a game designed to show how birds with different beaks can collect different food items.

Owners Chris Jaquette & Simon Thompson are excited to have the doors open and to welcome the community. As a thank you, they have some amazing prizes in the raffle including a Free Day Trip for Two Birding with Simon, the best Squirrel proof feeder on the market today – the Eliminator, a free bird feeding deck set up and lots of other feeders, videos and more!

Wild Birds Unlimited is a great resource for not only birders, but all interested in the richness and biodiversity found in the Southern Appalachian Mountains we call home. Local programs are offered throughout the year in addition to bird and nature walks in the area. In addition, holiday shopping is made easy with the variety of not only bird feeders and bird houses, but also specialty garden and gift items not found elsewhere.
