WLOS: Church left in cold after fuel oil stolen

The congregation of Full Gospel Holiness Church in Canton was in the cold Sunday after 125 gallons of heating oil was stolen from its outside fuel tank, according to a WLOS report.

The church’s 30 to 40 members arrived for Sunday service last weekend to find their place of worship feeling like the winter outdoors. The stolen oil comes at a costly price to the church and its members as Full Gospel continues to struggle in paying the pastor, WLOS reported.

Reverend Ron Gardner said that he hopes to have the tank re-filled by the end of the week despite the money hit. The cost of fuel oil in the Asheville area is about $3.75 a gallon, the U.S. Energy Information Administration reports.
