WNC Career Expo will be held Wednesday, April 17 at WNC Ag Center

The Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce and Mountain Area Workforce Development Board encourage all Western North Carolina career seekers to attend the WNC Career Expo, which will be held on Wednesday, April 17  from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Davis Event Center at the Western North Carolina Agricultural Center, located at 761 Boylston Highway, Fletcher, 28732.

Various participating employers in dynamic industries like advanced manufacturing and health care can interview candidates on site at the WNC Career Expo, and several can make employment offers on the spot.

“The WNC Career Expo is the place to connect with a rewarding career in Western North Carolina,” said Nathan Ramsey, Director of the Mountain Area Workforce Development Board. “Many employers offering exciting opportunities, competitive pay and great benefits are ready to connect with job seekers.”

The WNC Career Expo will also offer free services to job seekers in need of career readiness or career search support. Experts from NCWorks Career Centers will be on site throughout the event offering interview preparation support and resume reviews to job seekers free of charge, with no appointment necessary.

Additionally, the WNC Career Expo has partnered with regional school systems to provide over 250 high school students with opportunities to explore career paths and employment options available across the diverse industries represented by exhibiting businesses and industries. Students from Asheville City, Buncombe County, Madison County, Henderson County and Transylvania County schools will participate in the registration-only student portion of the Expo sponsored by Pratt & Whitney and UNC Health Pardee.

The WNC Career Expo is presented by the Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce and the Mountain Area Workforce Development Board, with additional support from A-B Tech, Asheville Radio Group, Bojangles of WNC, iHeart Media, Advanced Business Equipment, and FASTSIGNS of Asheville.

INFORMATION FOR JOB SEEKERS

The WNC Career Expo is free and open to all job seekers from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. with no registration required to attend. To learn more about the event and view a list of participating employers, visit www.ashevillechamber.org/expo.

Free on-site services including one-on-one interview preparation, resume review and resume printing will be available to all job seekers with no appointments necessary.
