Press release from AdvantageWest Economic Development Group:
Eleven WNC businesses, out of more than 100 applicants, have been selected to participate in the inaugural class of Accelerating Appalachia, a first-of-its-kind business accelerator based here in the AdvantageWest region. The project, supported in part by AdvantageWest through a Rural Jobs Accelerator grant award from the Appalachian Regional Commission, is aimed at growing innovative, high-impact ventures in nature-based businesses such as sustainable agriculture, textiles, forest products, craft brewing, clean energy, wellness and the outdoor industry.
