PRESS RELEASE:

World Peas Animation is excited to announce six weeks of Summer Camps in West Asheville around three exciting subjects: Minecraft Animation, Baking Adventures and Movie Making!

Minecraft Animation Camp will enable students to build their own Minecraft themed set, with characters and props, which they will then use to photograph a stop motion animation. We will celebrate at the end of the week with a screening of student movies. Students also get to take home their sets/characters/props, and a DVD of student movies. June 20 – 24 & June 27 – July 1

In Baking Safari Camp students will bake a take-home treat in the morning and visit a professional bakery in the afternoon. Our mornings will be filled with baking delicious treats from scratch with wholesome ingredients, which students will be able to take home and share with their family. After lunch, we will walk as a group to a local bakery to see behind the scenes, and perhaps even sample or create a treat. July 6 – 8 & July 11 – 15

Lights! Camera! Action! Will provide a week-long movie making immersion. Students will work in groups to write, direct, act in, shoot, edit and produce a film of their own design. We will celebrate at the end of the week with a screening of student movies, a DVD to take home, and more knowledge about and experience in making movies! July 18 – 22 & July 25 – 29

All camps run 9 am – 3 pm and will be held at the West Asheville Presbyterian Church on Haywood Road. Registration information and slideshows of last year’s camps are available at facebook.com/WorldPeasAnimations. Contact Lisa Smith, camp director, at WorldPeasAnimations@gmail.com for more information.
