Youth OUTright’s Young Voices project premieres Sept. 11

Youth OUTright, WNC, Inc. will introduce its Young Voices project on Thursday evening, September 11, from 7:30 to 9:00 at the Jewish Community Center on Charlotte Street in Asheville.  Young poets and actors, including Andi Espenshade, Justin Day, Wesley Stroupe, and Coraline Badgett will be featured.  The festive evening will include a complimentary hors d’oeuvres buffet and wine and beer bar courtesy of Metro Wines.  While there is no charge for the event, reservations are strongly recommended. Young Voices is Youth OUTright’s annual community event focusing on youth performances, both in telling their own stories and through interpretations of the works of well-known lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender poets, playwrights and authors.

Underwriting for the Young Voices community event is provided in part by Mission Health, Bank of America, Christowerks and PLI.  The event is co-chaired by Anneliese Schombs-Fish and Alison Adnet.

Youth OUTright, WNC, Inc., a 501c-3, not-for-profit organization, offers discussion groups and social activities for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and questioning youth, ages 14-23. Topics and activities are led by two trained facilitators.
