In celebration of its fifth anniversary, Posana Café will host its annual benefit dinner for the Appalachian Sustainable Agriculture Project‘s Growing Minds program 5-9 p.m. Thursday, May 22. Along with the regular menu, guests will be offered a separate menu special to the event that features dishes made entirely from local ingredients.
One hundred percent of the profits from the local menu will be donated to Growing Minds. Local farms donating food items include: Brasstown Beef, Looking Glass Creamery, Three Graces Dairy, Ashley Farms, Hickory Nut Gap Farm, Sunburst Farms Trout, Rise Up Rooted and Fork Mountain Farms.
This is the sixth year Posana has held the event. Although the restaurant has been open for five years, it did a soft opening benefitting ASAP before its official opening. Each year, the event has brought in $600-$700 for the Growing Minds program
ASAP’s Growing Minds program enriches the education of younger generations by connecting students with local farms. Posana Café offers a seasonal menu that draws inspiration from locally available foods and works with more than 30 local partners who supply everything from cheese and grain-fed meats to caviar.
Posana Café is on Pack Square in downtown Asheville. Reservations for the event can be made online or by calling 828-505-3969.
