Asheville City Council and Mayor Esther Manheimer will host a community meeting, from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, at Charles T. Koontz Intermediate School (305 Overlook Road) to discuss the 2014-15 Strategic Operating Plan with the public.
Each year, Council develops a SOP outlining goals for the upcoming fiscal year and used as a roadmap for policy decisions.
During the meeting, Mayor Manheimer will give an overview of the plan, including the goals and focus areas, and then invite public feedback by dividing participants into smaller discussion groups for each of the three focus areas of the plan.
Council members will also be on hand during discussions to listen to the community input.
City Council will review and approve the SOP at its May 13 meeting.
