Totally Tubular

What: Break out your neon snow pants and radical leg warmers for the Town of Beech Mountain’s Totally ‘80s Ski Weekend. Swish down the slopes just like the guys from Hot Tub Time Machine (think mullets and Members Only jackets). Live music kicks off the weekend with 1980s rockers Buick McKane. A tribute band will take over Beech Tree Lodge on Saturday, and a Rail Jam freestyle competition will feature a DJ spinning retro tunes later in the afternoon. Of course there will be plenty of skiing. Beech Mountain Resort will offer ski and lodging specials and local businesses will pull out a slew of 80s-themed deals. Even if skiing isn’t your thing, is free to hear some hot music and thrash out some bangin’ bands.

When: Friday, Feb. 24, through Sunday, Feb. 26. Buick McKane will perform ‘80s hits at Jackalope's View restaurant on Friday at 9 pm. A tribute band will rock out at Beech Tree Lodge on Saturday at 6 p.m. See website for a complete schedule of events on and off the slopes.

Where: Beech Mountain Resort, 1007 Beech Mountain Parkway, and other locations throughout Beech Mountain

Price: Free to attend. Ski and lodging specials are available.
