Brian Canipelli’s new sandwich shop, Cucina 24 Deli, is now open.
Xpress had the chance to visit today, and tasted some amazing truffled deviled eggs — topped with shaved black truffles — and an excellent Italian sandwich on house made marble rye, piled high with thinly sliced, high-quality deli meats and cherry peppers. All of the bread the shop uses for sandwiches is house made, says Canipelli.
Planning on stopping by during Bele Chere? The little sandwich shop is located right next to Cucina 24 on Wall Street in downtown Asheville, and is open for lunch up until 5:30 p.m. Call 254-6170 for more information.
Though the deli’s menu will change frequently, says Canipelli, these offerings will stay the same throughout the weekend:
Sandwiches:
Burrata BLT: Crispy prosciutto, arugula, heirloom tomatoes
Corned beef: Kraut, dijon, marble rye
Roasted turkey: Fig mostarda, provolone, aioli
Italian: Genoa salami, mortadella, pepperoni, hot pepper relish
Chickpea puree: Eggplant, goat ricotta, mint pesto
Capicolla: Black olive relish, grainy mustard, arugula
Antipasti:
Deviled eggs with black truffle
Watermelon and ricotta salata, sea salt
Grilled corn, farro, mint
Roasted peaches with black pepper mascarpone
Slow-roasted tomato with smoked goat cheese
Grilled eggplant, chili, pistachio
