The whole region is under an ice storm warning today, as the National Weather Service cautions residents about a “wintry mix” of ice and snow through this afternoon.
Warning of “ice and snow accumulations expected across the Tennessee Valley and Southern Appalachian region today,” the NWS expects a change to rain by the afternoon as temperatures increase.
However, the city of Asheville suspended bus service at 7:30 a.m. due to deteriorating road conditions, and schools throughout the area are closed.

The art buses decided to stop running after people paid to get on, then announced that everyone was stuck there at the tramsit center until further notice. They refused to refund anyone thier money. Congradulations A.R.T. . . You definitely redifined transit. .
