Men pranced around in pumps and stilettos downtown Sunday to raise awareness about sexual assault, violence, and rape. OurVOICE hosted the event to film a promotional video for their third Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event, which takes place April 28. At the event, men walk a mile in high heels to show their commitment to preventing sexual violence. According to development and marketing coordinator Robin Payne, OurVOICE hopes to enlist 500 walkers and raise $30,000 this year, $10,000 more than last year. Groups included in the video are Marco’s Pizzeria, The Hop, West End Bakery, Earth Fare, and the Asheville Fire Department. For more information, visit walkamileasheville.org
