VIDEO: Men strut in stilettos to fight sexual violence

Men pranced around in pumps and stilettos downtown Sunday to raise awareness about sexual assault, violence, and rape.  OurVOICE hosted the event to film a promotional video for their third Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event, which takes place April 28.  At the event, men walk a mile in high heels to show their commitment to preventing sexual violence.  According to development and marketing coordinator Robin Payne, OurVOICE hopes to enlist 500 walkers and raise $30,000 this year, $10,000 more than last year.  Groups included in the video are Marco’s Pizzeria, The Hop, West End Bakery, Earth Fare, and the Asheville Fire Department.  For more information, visit
