My daddy taught me to learn from my mistakes. Please remind City Council to learn from theirs.
I am very unhappy about selling the property in [the area of] the U.S. Cellular Center, Basilica of St. Lawrence, Pack Library and Grove Arcade to McKibbon. Here are some examples Council can learn from.
Staples: Council struggled to get the size of that billboard reduced, after initially allowing it to be put up. The Merrimon Avenue [digital billboard]: Council has been through various gyrations, after allowing this monstrosity on Merrimon. U.S. Cellular Center: Council is allowing city sign regulation to be broken, after receiving a few bucks from a big outside corporation.
McKibbon: Council knows that a park will be an asset, a blessing for us, tourists and all. This situation has some "evil" overtones.
